Groundbreaking Ceremony for 24-Hour Childcare Center
Coffeyville, KS – May 30, 2024 – ABC-Coffeyville Christian Preschool and Childcare is excited to announce the groundbreaking of a new facility. This state-of-the-art center will be one of the first in Kansas to offer 24-hour childcare services, a significant milestone in our community’s support for working families.
The groundbreaking ceremony will take place on June 18th at 10:00 am, behind Community State Bank, located at 1401 W 10th. This event marks the beginning of a new era in childcare, providing much-needed support for parents and addressing the workforce demands of local businesses.
The expansion and new facility have been made possible through grant funds from SPARK and a private family foundation. This investment will enable ABC-Coffeyville Christian Preschool and Childcare to offer round-the-clock care for children from infancy through 6th grade, including pre-k and preschool options. Additional collaborations include Child Care Aware, Community State Bank, and several donors. Organizations that connected at multiple project levels include LHEAT, the City of Coffeyville, Coffeyville Chamber, MCAC, and others to develop project plans, secure funding, and ensure the successful launch of the new childcare facility.
Meeting a Crucial Need
As the first 24-hour childcare center in Kansas, ABC-Coffeyville Christian Preschool and Childcare is responding to a pressing need within our community. Many parents, especially those working non-traditional hours in healthcare, emergency services, and manufacturing, struggle to find reliable childcare during evenings, nights, and weekends. This new facility will provide a safe, nurturing environment for their children at any hour of the day or night.
