Grand River Dam Authority
About
Headquartered in Vinita, GRDA is Oklahoma’s state-owned electric utility; fully funded by revenues from electric and water sales instead of taxes. With a diverse mixture of gas, coal, water and wind generation resources, GRDA produces and delivers electricity to 15 Oklahoma communities, as well as electric cooperatives and the industries in the MidAmerica Industrial Park (Pryor). Many of GRDA’s customer relationships are over 60 years old. Through other, indirect sales, GRDA power also touches 75 of 77 counties in the state and reaches into the surrounding four-state region. At the same time, GRDA also manages over 70,000 surface acres of lake waters in the state, including Oklahoma’s premier recreation destination, Grand Lake. GRDA also manages the waters of Oklahoma’s scenic Illinois River. Each day, GRDA strives to be an “Oklahoma agency of excellence” by focusing on the 5 E’s: electricity, economic development, environmental stewardship, employees and efficiency.
