The Coffeyville Recreation Commission (CRC) has partnered with the Sherwin Williams Corporation to add a Phase III to Sherwin Williams Park which will include a Destination Playground, Outdoor Fitness Court and two Futsal Soccer Fields.
The Park focuses three aspects: Health of our Community, Play in our Community, and Recreation. With those three components in mind, they developed a plan to construct a Destination Playground, Outdoor Fitness Court and two Futsal Soccer Fields. The CRC partnered with Greenbush and ABCreative on a Destination Playground that would provide a Fun, Cognitive and Physical challenge for Children. They also partnered with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas, KRPA, and The National Fitness Campaign on an Outdoor Fitness Court. The last partnership was with Urban Soccer Park to construct two 60 x 90-foot turf soccer fields, their first project within the State of Kansas.
A grand opening is scheduled for June 30th at 10:00 AM. This park, located directly across the street from Community Elementary School will be a destination site that will offer something for the entire family. Excluding the investment made by Sherwin Williams, the CRC has dedicated $1.2 Million to complete Phase III of Sherwin Williams Park.
