The Coffeyville Area Chamber of Commerce recently formed a Housing Task Force (HTF) to facilitate the growth of residential housing available to the Coffeyville community area. The HTF is under the direction of Mike Ewy, CEO of Community State Bank. “The Housing Task Force’s five-year plan is to facilitate the construction of 12 new homes by December 31st of 2026”. Said Ewy. “In addition, we hope to facilitate the creation of 10 additional residential lots with infrastructure in the same time period.”

There are two housing developments the HTF is currently working on. The Crossings at Brookwood - located at Gibson Avenue and Northfield Streets, and Cedar Brook - located on Woodland Avenue. As part of the HTF year-one plan, two new spec homes are now under construction in The Crossings at Brookwood: 302 Gibson Avenue - a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home and 304 Gibson Avenue - a 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom home. The estimated completion date for these two homes is mid-summer 2021. Home floor plans can be viewed at americanhomesrealty.com.

IronStyle Homes is the builder of these homes. In addition to these homes, there are 5 tracts with infrastructure in place (or ready to be in place) at The Crossings at Brookwood development. The Cedar Brook development on Woodland Avenue has 6 total lots with 4 still available. The development (while located in the county) has fiber and city electric utilities The lots have been perk tested for septic system and the water is serviced from the rural water district. One new home has already been built in Cedar Brook.

The current and future progress of this task force will play a major role in the economic vitality of the Coffeyville community. “Coffeyville has seen a recent increase in prospective residents from all over the US, and providing quality housing will provide continued resident growth, improve the quality of life in the community, and overall, support economic growth in our region”, said Ewy.
