The veterans roundup is a way for veterans in the area to sign up for or check on their benefits through the VA. Many times there may be one form that was not filled out correctly, and so they are denied without an explanation stating that the only reason they were denied was because of that. So our veterans have been walking other veterans through the process and helping them with whatever they have to do to get their paperwork submitted to the VA correctly.
The whole goal of the day is to
get the process started for veterans who have never applied before and to help
follow up with those who have been denied in the past that maybe there is just
a technicality behind their denial. There will be 3 mobile units from the
Kansas Commission on Veterans Affairs there each day, which means there will be
6 representatives helping process veterans.
The mobile units are where the veterans will fill out paperwork and meet
with the representatives of the Kansas Commission on Veterans Affairs
Office. Inside the Memorial Hall/Civic Center there will be tables set up
for them to sit at while they wait to meet with a representative. For more Information Please, Contact:
